I/O Modules:

Description: There are five I/O Modules (D510-D514), each with differing task assignments, strategically located throughout the Pit Viper. These ruggedized modules are serially connected to each other through a CAN cable and connect the central computer to the sensors, actuators, and control devices. Each module assumes its identity through the combination of an address plug (yellow on RCS 3 and green for RCS 4) and a unique RCS software program when booted. Each module has 25 connection points, simplistically labeled X1 – X25 for: CAN in, CAN out, power, address plug and connections to the end units for sending and receiving analog, digital, and PWM signals. Features:

  • The modules are strategically placed in a central area to the majority of its controlled devices creating a uniquely simplistic cabling plan.
  • Each module is identical in hardware, promoting ease of maintenance.
  • To aid in quick and decisive troubleshooting and decrease MTTR, each connection point is equipped with LED’s to denote differing levels of performance to immediately begin deducing variables.
